Anne Morrell Walsh

Anne Morrell Walsh died on October 24, 2007 in Darien, CT. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1924, she was the daughter of Alice and Frank Morrell.

Mrs. Walsh lived and raised her family in Garden City, N.Y. where she was an active volunteer at the Garden City Exchange. In 1994, she and her husband moved to Darien. She joined the Darien Community Association and was a member of its Book Group.

She attended St. Angela's Hall Academy in Brooklyn and earned an art degree at Pratt Institute, leading to a lifelong interest in painting, architecture, antiques and interior design. She married George J. Walsh in 1948. She loved reading, cooking and gathering family and friends together. She was known for her warmth and sense of style.

Mrs. Walsh is survived by her husband; a son, George M. Walsh of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; three daughters, Alice Shapiro of New Hope, Pa., Anne Ross of Darien, Regina Walsh of New Canaan, CT, and a brother, Dr. James Morrell of Blue Bell, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass was celebrated at St. John R.C. Church in Darien on Saturday
