Garden City Bombers Take The Field

Michael McGuire warms up the infield
The Garden City Bombers met up with East Rockaway in a grueling double header. The Bombers played a man down in the first game but thanks to the help of Jay McNamara & Drew Haggarty the team avoided a forfeit. The 8-2 loss did not dampen anyone's spirits and the Bombers came back for their first win! In Game 2 the GC Bombers bounced back with a 7-4 win. William Hammersley closed the door with two scoreless innings of relief after Ross Sutton had gone four strong innings. Joey Rocco, Kyle Ascher and Tommy Reifler had line drive hits to the opposite field while Jay McNamara and Drew Haggarty flashed some leather at 2nd base. Andrew Hammersley and Jack Molitor were right in the middle of a 6-run rally in the 2nd inning, which was capped off by a 2 Out, 2 RBI single by Michael McGuire. The game ended with a dramatic play at the plate after Brendan McGuire fired home to Ross Sutton, who held on for the final out. What a great day of baseball. Way to go Bombers!
