Thunder 9 Maroon Makes It 5 and 2

Thunder 9 Maroon won nicely in Long beach last Sunday, shutting out the Bulldogs 13-0. These boys are Play-Off bound! Their final regular season game this Sunday, Oct. 28, will determine their seeding for the Play-Offs. Some exciting moments from the Long Beach game:

• Total of 10 Thunder 1st downs; long runs by Andrew Wood, Brian Haeffner, Stephen Moran, Dan Confort, Kyle Thornton.

• Effective Passing Plays: QB John Simmons to Christian Coppola, caught for 8 yard gain; Simmons to Michael Goulard, caught and ran for 22 yard gain.

• Extra point scored on 1st Thunder TD: Jonston MacIntyre.

• Max Webster's key sack of Long Beach QB. (soooo much fun!)

• The "Play of the Season" - without a doubt!: On a Long Beach pass, Patrick Hosford blocked the intended receiver as Brian Haeffner made the interception and ran ALL THE WAY for a 40-yd TD!!

Dan Confort at 3-Back takes the hand-off from John Simmons. Max Webster yells, "Let's get 'em, Boys!" Howie Miller is just amazing, making huge blocks like this one all season. Stephen Moran carries as Andrew Wood (17) and Jonston MacIntyre (15) block. Kyle Thornton has the backfield all to himself as he makes a run.
