Board of Trustees Meeting News
By Stephanie Mariel Petrellese

Besides the withdrawal of The Committee to Save St. Paul's/Canus Corporation proposal for St. Paul's (see related article in this week's edition), the following also happened at the Oc-tober 18th Garden City Board of Trustees meeting:

The Board approved the expenditure of up to $134,500 for a professional service contract with WSJS Architects to design an elevator for Village Hall. The elevator will help bring the building closer to compliancy with the American Disabilities Act. Preliminary plans indicate the elevator will be located in the front of the building and run from the basement to the second floor. The architects will make some design adjustments to ensure that the elevator blends in as much as possible with current building architecture. After the design phase, the Village will seek bids for actual construction. The project is expected to be completed in one year.
