DiSalvo Interiors of Garden City hosted the August launch meeting of Corporate Volunteers of Long Island (CVLI), which matches corporate volunteers with community service needs throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. Funded by the Points of Light Foundation, this business-oriented community service initiative is coordinated by the Long Island Volunteer Center and chaired by board member Patricia Force of Freedom Mortgage.
CVLI will be a resource for encouraging, education and connecting businesses that support employee volunteer programs as a business strategy by providing the opportunity for peer-to-peer networking and the exchange of ideas, program examples and best practices in the volunteer industry.
Organizers of the CVLI include representatives of Abilities, Adecco, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Freedom Mortgage, Long Island Volunteer Center, Madonna Heights Services, Nassau Community College, Newsday's FutureCorps, OSI Pharmaceuticals and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
