Garden City Retired Men's Club Events Calendar The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political. All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City in the State of New York are eligible for membership upon paying a $5 initiation fee. Every Monday is Open House, or call Joe Leto at 248-9022. The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers two regulation size pool tables, television, card tables, board games, outdoor Bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. The Programs Committee is planning a very active speaker program. Come join us! Important - Flu shot program Tuesday November 20 th is Flu Shot Day at the Golf Club Lane Center for all Garden City residents 60 years and older. However, you must call the recreation Department at 465-4075 to register for an appointment. The recreation Department will accept calls starting next Tuesday October 30th. don't get shut out. call early
atlantic city - here we come!! Atlantic City trips will continue monthly for the rest of the year. Our next trip is Monday, November 26 th. There will not be a December Atlantic City trip. We will start again in January 2008, still keeping to the fourth Monday of every month. Keep in touch with Ed Palkot (437-0397) for the latest news regarding our schedule. Non-member residents of Garden City are invited.
the bocce ball The Bocce ball is rolling once again. We will soon have a winner. One semi-final spot has been decided. The second is on its way. Stay tuned.....
speaker program in full swing On Monday, October 29 th at 1 p.m., Mr. Howard Weitzman, Controller of Nassau County will explain to us "Why our taxes are so high." On Monday November 26 th at 1 p.m., Mr. Edward McCoyd, an attorney, will speak on "Wills, Trusts and Estates." There will not be a speaker in December. We will resume in January 2008. Non-member male, Garden City residents are invited to join us.
