Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

Between October 19 and 22, a $1600 Dell laptop computer was stolen from Levinmore Hall, Adelphi University... On October 23, during the afternoon, someone broke the passenger side window of a Ford parked at the GC Country Club , and took 2 suitcases, a laptop computer, a GPS system, a Canon camera and a brief case...Between October 21 and 22, someone stole $50 in CDs from a Lexus parked at Arthur Street...Around the same time, someone took $60 in CDs from an unlocked van... On October 16, PO Tuohy arrested a 42-year-old North Bellmore woman for taking a pair of BCBG shorts and 2 Calvin Klein tops at Lord and Taylor. Total value was $170 plus... Between October 21 and 22, a thief took a gift card and $40 US, from an unlocked car parked at Claydon Rd...On October 12, PO Sommer arrested a 48-year-old Elmont woman and a 48-year-old Uniondale man for the larceny of $200 in merchandise at Lord and Taylor, mainly Spanx and NYDJ jeans...PO Hickey arrested a 42-year-old Carle Place man for the possession of a controlled substance ( crack cocaine), resisting arrest, unlawful fleeing from police, DWI (refusal), 2 counts of speeding, 2 counts of the failure to maintain a lane, the violation of a restricted license, and 2 felony counts of aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree, at the scene of where this driver hit a bus while fleeing from police at Old Country Rd on October 21 at 2:45 AM. Two passengers in the car were also arrested: a 46-year-old Hempstead man for the criminal possession of a controlled substance ( crack cocaine) and a 42-year-old Hempstead woman for 2 counts of the possession of same...On October 18, a Sears employee was arrested after she allegedly took a $500 gift card and put it in her name, with several purchases amounting to $150... On October 17, 4 PM, a Woodside man who was unloading fans in the back of his truck, reported that another man , in the back of his truck, took a $300 commercial fan... On October 15, a 26-year-old Roosevelt man , who turned himself in to Family Court on a warrant, was also arrested by GC Police for an outstanding GC warrant for aggravated unlicensed operation...

Baby items boiling in a pot caused smoke at a Cambridge Ave. house on October 21... Firemen closed a window at a Chestnut St. house on October 22... An overheated light ballast caused alarm at a Franklin Ave. office on October 23... A worker at a Seventh Street location was locked in on October 23 and the FD utilized a key provided by the property owner there in order for the woman to gain exit..
