Eagle Scout Collects For Military

Scout Troop 243 Leader Mark Gamber, Kevin Way, Brian Way, Ann Way.
Eagle Scout candidate, Brian Way was pleased with the response from the first days collection of items to be sent to our troops in Iraq. There are two more collection dates - Saturdays October 20 and October 27. There are boxes at Keyfood Market Place on Seventh Street in Garden City and at Dollar Tree at 662 Stewart Avenue in Garden City.

The items asked for by our troops are:

Personal Items:

Razors, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste, mouthwash and dental floss, sunblock, chapstick, lotion and powder.

Practical items include:

Bandannas,batteries, international phone cards, mini fans, hand warmers, paper, pens, pencils, envelopes, small flashlights, decks of cards, disposable cameras, puzzles, magazines, paperback books and dominoes.

Among items in the food category are:

Hard candy, granola bars and crackers.

Do not give: pork or pork products, alcohol, tobacco products, chocolate (it's 120 degrees in the day over there). Black or White socks (no colored ones due to military restrictions).

Items donated by you and collected by Brian will show our troops serving in Iraq that we care about them. Small donations can make big packages when put together. Every little bit helps so do help Brian.
