Troop 243: 65 Years of Scouting and Community Service

Summer Camp 2007
Boy Scout Troop 243, sponsored by St. Joseph's R.C. Church, is celebrating its 65th year of scouting.

Please help us celebrate our history: we are looking for old photographs, memorabilia, and most importantly, troop alumni who are willing to share stories of their scouting experiences. Photographs from our history will be displayed at the troop's annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser in January. Exam-ples of recent photographs show the variety of activities pursued by the troop; we would like to add to our collection! Please contact Jim Morrell at jgmorrell@optonline.net or 516-248-2138 for further information.

We also welcome boys between the ages of 11 and 17 to join the troop and share in the scouting experience. The troop has an active program and has produced many Eagle scouts, the names of whom are listed on plaques in the St. Joseph's Auditorium. The troop meets on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium and is open to boys of all faiths.
