The Nassau North Shore Christian Women's Club cordially invites all women to the "AUTUMN HARVEST" luncheon on Tuesday, November 6, at 11:30 AM at the George Washington Manor restaurant on Old Northern Blvd. in Roslyn. The cost of the luncheon is $17. The special feature will be a "Harvest of Gifts." Members will bring their fresh-baked goods, crafts and new gifts to sell beginning at 11 AM. The "Harvest Moon" will keep shining on our star singer Virgilio MacAraeg. Their inspirational speaker will be Suzanne McCreight presenting her "Harvest of Thoughts." Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

Between October 9 and 10, someone stole tools including a sawzall, saw, hammer drill, and compressor, from a GMC work van parked at Field 7 N... Around that same time, someone broke into another work van parked there, and took a combination radio, CD, DVD player, navigation device, and rear camera monitor...On October 12, in the late evening, someone broke into a Ford car parked at Harvard St. and took a Dell computer valued at $1500 and its case valued at $100...Unknown persons damaged the moon roof top of a 1998 Volvo parked at Heath Place. Value was $2,000... A pocketbook containing $30 in US cash and credit cards was taken from a Roxbury Rd. residence on October 12... Between October 12 and 13, $25 was stolen from an unlocked car parked at a Brook Street house...Loose change was taken from another unlocked car parked there also...Unknown persons damaged 3 glass partitions at 3 separate bus shelters on Franklin Avenue, on October 12. Damage was estimated at $1580...A $350 Blackberry was taken from an unlocked parked car at Kenwood Rd. between October 12 and 13...On October 16, detectives responded to a call for a suspicious person on Meadow Street and a 41-year-old Freeport man was subsequently arrested for the criminal possession of crack cocaine... Between October 15 and 16, someone took 3 nail guns valued at $900 from a truck parked on Cherry Valley Avenue... A truck stop was conducted at Clinton Rd. on October 16 and 9 trucks were inspected with 2 trucks taken out of service, and 48 tickets issued... On October 15, 10:30 PM, 2 GC youths were issued appearance tickets for having a 12-pack of beer each... On October 13, a 17-year-old GC male was issued a ticket for having beer in his car... On October 11, 3 youths were issued tickets for trespass at the Waldorf School...

Fire Responses:

A fan was used to remove smoke from a Prescott Street house on October 10...Wires burned in a rear yard at a Lindbergh St. house on the same day. LIPA was notified...Firemen found an oil leak in a Poplar St. basement on October 10 and shut off the burner there... The power was disconnected to a stove at a Devereux Place house on October 11... A sump pump was used to remove water from a Tanners Pond Rd. house on October 11... A tree went on fire in a yard at Rockaway Ave. on October 13 and LIPA was notified to respond...
