Thunder Maroon 7s vs East Rockaway
 | | Michael Liberopolous has open field ahead as he churns for his first TD of the year. |
|
The Thunder Maroon 7s came up with big plays on both sides of the ball last weekend vs a quick and stubborn East Rockaway team. Led by great upfront blocking the Thunder owned the line of scrimmage. Its rare in 7 year old football to run between the tackles but the Offensive line of Liam Widell, Sean and Patrick Leggett, Mark Michon, Joey Ostapow, James Buckley, Jack Dignam and Eli Pagonis opened gaping holes all day. The thunder running backs pounded the middle as Kieran Paskewitz, Michael Liberopolous, Matt Desimplicis and Teddy Dolan gained huge chunks of turf on each carry. Great exchanges from center Kyle Steinbach which resulted in no dropped snaps. Handoffs were perfect from QB's Cole Dutton and Andrew DeSantis. The 7s twice hit paydirt with Michael Liberopolous plowing through tacklers for a 10 yard TD run and Andrew DeSantis skirting left end for a 40 yard score. A third TD run by Andrew was called back. Defensively the Thunder came up with big play after big play with
most plays tackled behind the E.R. line of scrimmage. Big days defensively for Aidan Griffin and George Cognard who held the outside at corner. Safety's and D-Line of Michael Schwantner, Tommy Siler, Joey Perrini and Quinn Buckner held the middle. Great day, great win for the Thunder 7s Maroon.
