Presbyterian Church Plans New Service

Have some coffee. Munch a snack. Hear some music. Meet new friends. Join in worship.

The Presbyterian Church in Garden City is inaugurating a new contemporary "Connection Service" on Sunday, October 21 at 5 p.m. A house band of talented musicians will provide live music, and audio/video technology will enhance the message.

"Starting an outreach ministry focused on worship and dialogue in a casual environment has been a long-time goal," says the Rev. Wanda Lawry Hughes. "We want people to come as they are and be who they are. We're calling it a 'Connection Service' because it's a way for people to connect with each other and with a new worship experience."

This informal event will be held every Sunday evening in a downstairs activity room of the main sanctuary building, located at 91 Chester Ave., on the corner of New Hyde Park Road. There's ample parking in a lot across the street. Regular Sunday worship is at 10:30 a.m.
