Mike Quill Topic At Irish Society Meeting Millions of New Yorkers followed Mike Quill's public career as one of the most colorful labor leaders in the history of New York City. Mike Quill will be the topic at the meeting of The Irish Cultural Society on Wednesday, October 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Garden City Library, 60 Seventh Street, across the street from the Garden City Hotel. The meeting is open to the public. The speaker will be Father Joseph Kelly, S.J., who wrote his master's thesis at Cornell University on "The Labor Philosophy of Michael Quill." Father Kelly's knowledge of Mike Quill is both scholarly and personal. He will remind the audience of the impact the Kerry Man had on the City and on labor relations in our country. Head of the Transport Workers Union, Quill was often front page news in the fifties and sixties, culminating in the transit strike of 1966. Father Kelly also has a masters degree from Loyola University-Chicago. He was chaplain and director of alumni relations at St. Peter's College for twenty-five years. Father has been at St. Malachy's Church, the Actor's Chapel, for thirteen years. Those who attend this meeting can expect a colorful talk on a colorful topic.
