Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem On October 9, 9 am, PO Touhy observed that a motorist had made an improper turn, while talking on a cell phone, at Edgemere Rd./Stewart Avenue and later arrested the 22-year-old Elmont woman who was considered a fugitive from justice. She was wanted on identity theft in Bucks County PA, in addition to the 2 traffic violations, and she was transported to jail for extradition... Between October 6 and 8, someone damaged the front door to the Nassau County Credit Union at Franklin Avenue and stole a $1500 laptop... PO Reynolds arrested a 38-year-old Elmont man for aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree ( 4 suspensions, 3 dates) at Stewart Ave./ Wetherill Rd. on October 7 at 7:45 pm...Between October 6 and 7, an $100 rocking chair was taken from the front porch at a Kilburn Rd. residence...Between October 6 and 7, 2 Trek bicycles valued at $700 were taken from a driveway at Wellington Rd...On October 2, police arrested a 22-year-old GC man who was observed allegedly staggering down Cherry Valley Ave. . He was in possession of Oxyontin, Tramadol, and Ultracet and he was charged with the criminal possession of a controlled substance... On October 6, 3:29 am, PO Hickey arrested a 31-year-old female from Richmond Hill for alleged DWI (.15%), alleged speeding, no insurance and for making an unsafe turn at Franklin Ave./ Fourth Street... Also that day, at 11:55 pm, Detective Rothermel assisted at a traffic stop at NHP Road, and arrested a passenger of a car who was in possession of cocaine, Xanax, as well as marijuana...Between October 2 and 5, someone took a $1500 laptop computer and accessories from a GC Plaza office... A 30-year-old Mineola female was arrested for allegedly stealing 2 Wrapper skirts valued at $58 at Sears...One $400 Dell computer and one $800 Compaq computer were taken from Bookspan on October 5 between 1 pm and 4:30 pm... On October 8, a $3,000 watch was stolen from a locker at the Red Door Spa on Franklin Avenue... Fire Responses: The FD used a Holmatro tool to extricate a victim from a car at Franklin Ave./Seventh Street...Bug spray used to kill bees in an attic came in contact with a light bulb there, which made a crackling sound at a Second Street residence on October 6, however, there was no fire...Cigar smoke at a Franklin Ave. location caused an unintentional alarm on October 7...Natural ventilation was used to dissipate smoke at a Seventh Street apartment on October 9...
