Free Lecture On Arthritis At Winthrop Winthrop-University Hospital's Perspectives in Health series and The Long Island Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation will co-sponsor a free program, "Arthritis: The Comprehensive Approach to Treatment," on Tuesday, October 16, at 7:00 PM. The program will be held at Winthrop's Community Outreach Center, 101 Mineola Boulevard at the corner of Second Street in Mineola. Physicians from Winthrop's Arthritis and Rheumatic Disease Center - Steven Carsons, MD, Chief of the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology; and Rheumatology Attending Physicians Kristina Belostocki, MD; Yaqoot Kahn, DO; and Gary Rosenblum, DO - will discuss the following topics: * "Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, COX-2 Inhibitors and Your Heart" * "Injectable TNF Inhibitors (Enbrel, Remicade and Humira) - 10 Years Later" * "New Drugs for Arthritis" * "What You Need to Know About Steroids - Are They Friend or Foe?" A question and answer period will follow the presentation. Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:45 PM for registration. Parking and the entrance are available in the rear of the building.
