GCAA Basketball Intramurals Fast Approaching

The Garden City Athletic Association (GCAA) is accepting applications for intramural Basketball. The season will start in early December and run until March 15, 2008.

There are no tryouts necessary for intramural play. Just sign up. Although we do not have confirmed times for intramurals this season we hope to run our program saturday mornings at St Pauls this year, starting with younger grades first.

** Sign up now for our 2nd grade intramural league. Players will receive uniforms. We plan on having an instructional period followed by a real game setting. NO MORE LINE DRILLS FOR THE 2ND GRADERS.

This is not 'open play format'. Teams are picked/selected, we keep scores for 3rd and above, we have playoffs in mid-March. We crown winners. (Last year we had to close out some youngsters so please sign up early this year, we have limited time and space at our disposal and want to offer the best in intramurals we can in our time allocation):

K-1st - clinics for younger players.

2nd grade - boys and girls (full court, uniforms etc)

3rd grade - boys

4th grade - boys

3rd+4th - girls

5th+6th - boys

5th-8th - girls

We offer K + 1st grade clinics at St Pauls. Run by a host of former players and dedicated dads we try to offer quality clinics with emphasis on learning and fun.

We offer professionally run clinics during the week where children can hone their skills.

Rules for our 3rd grade and above divisional play is posted on our website, www.gc-aa.com.

All our intramural teams are selected by a 'draft' process ensuring that the talent pool is spread as evenly as possible. Our goal is to have equal teams in every division. No 'super' teams are created by anyone, the process is monitored as closely as possible. If your child ends up on a weaker team it is a coincidence. Travel players are invited to participate and are highlighted at drafts so coaches know who plays travel and who doesn't.

Applications are available at St Pauls, Rec Dep't and on our website www.gc-aa.com, or type this link into your browser "www.gc-aa.com/basketballapplication2007.doc" and mail to the GCAA.

If you don't receive GCAA emails go to our website to sign up. Join a winning program!
