Thunder Maroon 7s Outlast Franklin Square

Cole Dutton sums up the Thunder Maroon 7s day with a big smile.

The Thunder Maroon 7s outlasted a stubborn Franklin Square team last week. The Maroon 7s broke the game open with scoring runs by Andrew DeSantis (2) and James Buckley.

The long runs were led by some great blocking by Kieran Paskewitz, Eli Pagonis, Will Honan, Teddy Dolan and Joey Ostapow. A defensive goal line stand was one of the

highlights as the Maroon 7s refused to let FS score from inside the 5 yard line on four straight plays. Great game by the Leggett boys, Patrick and Sean, who made big plays all day! Cornerbacks George Cognard, Aidan Griffin, Michael Schwatner and Mark Michon refused to give up the big play sweep leading to the shutout. Tremendous effort by all the boys!
