Halloween Festival At TheBird Sanctuary

"Sump-Thing's Happening" at the Garden City Bird Sanctuary on Saturday October 27th. From 4 to 9PM the community nature preserve will hold a Halloween Festival and Haunted Hike for all ages. In the event of rain, the feestival and haunted walk will be on Sunday October 28th. Sponsored by the Garden City High School Environmental Club to raise funds for the management of the bird sanctuary, the outdoor program includes games and contests, food, and a particularly entertaining guided "Haunted Hike" around the storm water basin where you might encounter everything from zombies and radioactive waste victims to invasive species, toxic dangers, and a host of ghosts, ghouls, and other scary creatures of the night. Younger hikers are urged to have parents accompanying them. That weekend is "Make A Difference Day" a national day of volunteer community service. Come on over and show your support!! The $10 donation per person to the Garden City Bird Sanctuary will help the nonprofit organization continue its successful environmental stewardship programs.
