Garden City Basketball - Coach K

On Monday September 17th, we had the opportunity to attend an "On Leadership" session featuring Coach Mike Krzyzewski, Duke University men's basketball head coach, who has led his team to three NCAA national championships (1991, 1992 and 2001), 10 Final Fours, and built one of the most successful basketball programs in the nation. Coach K spoke on "Breaking through Your Limits: Leading and Teaching," and shared his insights gained from personal experience to achieve success on and off the court.

For your convenience, we have redistributed applications through the schools. We will send out confirmation emails to the hundreds of already registered participants by the end of September.

Our registration fee is $50. The application deadline is October 5th.

Paper applications may be obtained from our website, St. Paul's-Cluett Hall, the Island Garden, and/or the village of Garden City Recreation Office.

The focus of Garden City Basketball is our intramural program. Our greater mission is to provide a wonderful experience for all of our participants so that a love of the life long game of basketball will be nurtured and grow.

The Garden City Basketball intramural program is held in the St. Paul's Field House.

We have:

* Clinics for Boys & Girls Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade

* Boys intramurals for the 3rd through the 6th grade

* Girls intramurals for the 3rd through the 7th grade

* Boys intramural "Friday Night Lights" for the 7th through the 10th grade

* Boys & Girls 3rd Grade and higher weeknight clinics run with expert instructors and our dedicated coaches

* A variety of special events

Our intramural program runs from the middle of November and through the middle/end of March. "Friday Night Lights - Streetball" is our Boys 7th/8th and 9th/10th Grade program that is held in town on Friday Nights starting in December. All of our other programs have their games on Saturday.

Early in the season, we will return to the Professional Athletic Performance Center for specialized sessions on Speed, Agility, and Quickness specifically tailored for the Garden City Basketball program.
