pastel class beginning

Our first session of Arlene Urban's pastel art class will begin on Friday, September 21. This program is open to adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. The class will meet for 10 weeks from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Cluett Hall. The cost of this program is $105.

adult tennis lessons now forming

The Recreation Department offers adult tennis lessons in 10-week sessions. Our lessons are open to all adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City and are offered at various times during the day and on the weekends.

If you are interested in lessons for the upcoming fall season, which begin the week of October 1 st, please visit the Recreation Office in Village Hall no later than September 21 st to fill out an interest form. Classes will be put together according to ability and day desired on a first come, first serve basis. You will be contacted by our tennis pro, Carrie Strum, to confirm your class.

The cost of this 10-week, one-hour program will be $199. Payment must accompany an interest form. Please make checks payable to "Inc. Village of Garden City."

Adult Ultimate Workout - This 1 1/2 hr. workout is for the experienced tennis player who wants to hone their skills. It is held on Saturdays from 10-11:30 a.m. This program will be offered in 10 week sessions with a start date of October 13th. The cost is $200.

yoga classes begin again

Our fall session of yoga has started. Connie McKnight, our certified yoga instructor, has designed classes with all ages in mind. Each 12-week course will cost $60 and each class is 55 minutes long. All classes are held in Cluett Hall at St. Paul's. Any resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City is invited to join these relaxing classes. The course schedule is as follows:

dance conservatory registration begins

The Garden City Recreation Department's Dance Conservatory Program is pleased to announce the start of registration for its upcoming 2007-2008 season! Director Felicia Lovaglio, along with Mary Searson and the rest of her staff, are excited to start another fantastic year. The Dance Conservatory offers classes to Garden City residents ages 3 1/2 through adult which are non-performance based. Age is determined by the start date of the desired class. The schedule and fees for this year's youth classes are as follows (all classes are 55 minutes long unless otherwise noted):

To register: by mail only, no walk-in registrations will be accepted until September 20. We can not be held responsible for delays in the mail. To register, pick up an application at the Recreation Office in Village Hall. You can also make your own by listing your child's name, address, phone number, birth date, grade and the classes and codes for which you are registering. Instructional Programs

The Recreation Department's children's tennis lessons begin on Monday, September 24 th and run through December. There is now limited availability in our classes. For further information or to register, please visit the Recreation Dept. in Village Hall.

competitive Team Tennis For Juniors

This tennis program is a tryout program for advanced players who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City, ages 9 to 18 who want to play competitive tennis in a team format. Interclub play, lessons and practice time are offered in this program.

A tryout is mandatory for this program since there is a limited number of participants. Tryout dates are September 22 from 4-6 p.m. & 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Community Park Tennis Facility.

Your only need to show up for one of the two dates. No preregistration is necessary.
