First Game For Boys Thunder Seven

The coaches and the captains
The Boys Thunder Seven (White) played their first-ever game Friday night under the lights at Community Park.

The challenges were evident for their first game. The boys were facing Uniondale, a team that has been together a couple of years, and already had a game under their belt this year. In the first half, the Thunder executed several successful offensive plays, including a lead-off quarterback-sneak by QB Tyler Wuchte and Center Mark Di Pierro. Running backs Liam Muldoon, Michael Handel, and Luke Connolly also contributed several positive yardage plays. The offensive line did a good job of holding their own.

In the second half, the defensive highlights were an exciting interception by Aiden Byrnes and several strong stops by the Thunder defensive line.

Ultimately however, the Uniondale experience was evident, as they benefited from several broken plays that eluded the Thunder defense and produced successful touchdown runs.

Summing up the first game, Head Coach Curtin noted "We're extremely proud of the boys. They played hard and have made tremendous progress since our first practices in early August. Tonight, they got a chance to see how it all fits together and we all learned a great deal. We look forward to taking these lessons to practice this week". The GC Thunder 7's White will face Long Beach next Saturday morning at 8:30 am at Stewart Field".
