Joins Breast Cancer Program Advisory Board

Hillary Rutter, the Director of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, announced that Dr. Ron Israeli has joined the program's advisory board.
Says Ms. Rutter, "Dr. Israeli's commitment to women with breast cancer makes him an ideal addition to our board. I am confident that he can help us move forward in our work in helping families cope with breast cancer."
Dr. Ron Israeli of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, P.C., Great Neck, NY, has specialized in breast reconstruction since 1997, and is regarded as a leader in muscle-sparing abdominal microvascular free flap breast reconstruction. He is currently one of a small handful of practitioners nationwide that serves as clinical investigator for the LifeCell Corporation, utilizing AlloDerm in implant breast reconstruction. Dr. Israeli also took part as an investigator in the national Adjunct Study that resulted in FDA approval of the newest generation of silicone gel implants. He has published numerous plastic surgery articles and has presented at regional, national and international plastic surgery conferences. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the New York Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Israeli applies his skills and talent as an artist in his work as a plastic surgeon. He studies classical European sculpture techniques at the studios of the Nassau County Museum of Art. Dr. Israeli's practice is based primarily at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Says Dr. Israeli, "As a plastic surgeon specializing in post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, I have never underestimated the psychological importance of what I do. I know that the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program is dedicated to addressing the many psychosocial issues associated with breast cancer. I am excited to be on their advisory board, and I look forward to working with them as an advocate for breast cancer patients."
