Cathedral Choirs Return From Camps

Members of the Cathedral of the Incarnation's Choirs who attended the camp were: Top row: Richard Scillia, Larry Tremsky, Stephen Tamke, Dr. David Hill, guest music director, Josh Little field, Martin Adams Bottom row: Ian Scott, Jack Fishman, Johannes Adams, Sam Newman and Aidan Dunn.
Members of the Cathedral Choirs enjoyed a fun-filled experience at choir camps this summer while broadening their music educations. Ten members of the Men and Boys choir traveled to Montreal, Canada to take part in the annual Mont-real Boys Choir Course. The course this year was under the direction of the eminent conductor Dr. David Hill, formerly of Winchester Cathedral and St. John's College in Cambridge, England. Dr Hill is now Principal Conductor of the BBC Singers. Sixty five boys, teens and men from across the United States and Canada worked together in preparing for a Sunday Mass and Evensong sung at Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal. This is the 21st year that the Cathedral Choir took part in this course.

During the same week that the men and boys were in Montreal, members of the Girls' Choir attended choir camp at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Manhattan for a week. The week featured guest music director Sarah MacDonald, Director of Music at Selwyn College, Cambridge, England. She worked with the girls in preparing both a Thursday Evensong and a Sunday morning Mass. The course, now in its third year saw 44 girls from across the United States come together for a week filled with much challenging music, fun and friendship!
