Writing Workshop For Breast Cancer Patients Writer and social worker Laura Parisi King, who is also a breast cancer survivor, teaches writing in this free workshop for breast cancer patients and survivors on Monday, October 29, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at Adelphi University's Alumni House in Garden City. A diagnosis of cancer brings with it a range of emotions from severe anger and rage to acceptance or a new outlook on life. Many people have a hard time expressing their feelings and get frustrated as they try to put them into words. This workshop is designed to help participants say the things that too often get stuck inside. No previous writing experience necessary. This program is open only to breast cancer patients and survivors. It is sponsored by a grant from The New York State Department of Health, Community Based Cancer Support Services. Pre-registration is required. Call 516-877-4325. The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program has been helping New Yorkers for over a quarter of a century. To reach the hotline, call 800-877-8077. Help is just a phone call away.
