Free Breast Cancer Support Groups

The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer program is offering new support groups. There is no cost for any group; however pre- registration is required. Most groups meet at Adelphi University School of Social Work, Garden City. For Women Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer- Wednesday evenings.

An evening group will meet weekly for 8 weeks from 7pm to 8:30 pm, tentatively beginning on October 3. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

For Women Post-treatment- Wednesday evenings.

An evening group will meet weekly for 8 weeks from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, tentatively beginning October 3. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

For Women with Metastatic Breast Cancer- Monday evenings.

This ongoing group meets weekly from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

The Close Knit Group- A support and handicraft group (knitting, crocheting and/or sewing) for women with breast cancer - This daytime group meets monthly on Thursday afternoons from 1:30 pm to 3 pm. on the 2nd Thursday of each month. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

For Women with Breast Cancer- Tuesday mornings.

A daytime group will meet weekly for 8 weeks, from 11 - 12:30 pm, tentatively beginning on October 2.

For Spanish Speaking Women with Breast Cancer- 2nd and 4th Tuesday afternoons - East Meadow Location.

An ongoing daytime group meets twice/month from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.

For Women in Suffolk County- an 8-week group for women with breast cancer is now forming.

Groups for young women, couples and men with breast cancer are formed upon request.
