Vacation Bible School Makes A Donation To The INN

Liz and Megan McQuaid
"Dive Deep Into the Great Bible Reef" was the theme of Vacation Bible School at the Garden City Community Church held in June. Led this year by Kathy Yoo and Diane Feyrer, the underwater theme was used for crafts, snacks, songs and drama. The drama stars of the week were Julie Germano who portrayed "The Star-fish" and her trusty sidekick, Jelly-fish, played by Anna Morreale. Each day they acted out a different Bible lesson in the morning to start the day off with a central theme.

The outreach program of Vacation Bible School raised money for the INN this year. Approximately 100 bags were decorated and contained towels, soaps and toiletries, toothbrushes and toothpaste for needy people. The students also raised more than $850 in FOUR DAYS by collecting loose change each day, which was donated to the INN for supplies, including food and water.

The students enjoyed participating in a program that taught them about key Bible stories and put their hearts and hands to good use each day helping others. Much thanks goes to the volunteers, as well as all the people who contributed items for the INN donations. And also, a heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers (both adults and young adults) who taught a class, led a song, or prepared a snack or just lent a helping hand. The children really enjoyed the week!
