"There Ought To Be A Law" Winner
Senator Kemp Hannon (R-6th S.D.) recently congratulated Brendan Reis as the winner from St. Joseph's School of Senator Hannon's 2007 "There Ought To Be A Law" contest. The annual program honors the ideas for New York State legislation, as conceived by local students. Brendan's winning entry proposed: When a number of car crashes are reported in a small area (an intersection, off ramp) in a relatively short amount of time, the area must be inspected if the crashes are thought to be a physical problem such as a dangerous intersection layout. He said, the problem must be resolved in some way to prevent future crashes in the area.
