CyberKnife: Free Lecture at Winthrop Winthrop-University Hospital's Advances in Cancer Care educational series will present a free lecture, "CyberKnife: A Revolutionary Treatment," on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at 7:00 PM. Held at Winthrop's Community Outreach Center, 101 Mineola Boulevard at the corner of Second Street in Mineola, the program will address a new way of treating benign and malignant lesions of the brain, spine, prostate, lung, liver, pancreas and kidney. Alan J. Katz, MD, Chief of Radiation Oncology at Winthrop, will discuss the benefits of CyberKnife(r) radiosur-gery, explaining how it precisely delivers radiation to the targeted areas, sparing healthy tissue. Find out why positive results are achieved during fewer treatment sessions, as well as how treatment courses are determined. A question and answer period will follow the lecture. Parking and the entrance are at the rear of the building. Admission is free, but seating is limited and reservations are required.
