Wings Ice Hockey Teams Schedule Tryouts

Tryouts for the Garden City Wings Ice Hockey teams have been scheduled.

The first tryout / practice for the Middle School team will be held on Saturday, September 8 on the ice from 10:15 through 11:30 a.m. at the Long Beach Arena, West Bay Drive and Magnolia Avenue in Long Beach. The second tryout / practice will be held on Sunday, September 9 on the ice from 3:30 through 5 p.m. at Iceworks, 175 Underhill Blvd., Syosset. Tryouts are free and open to ALL 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who reside within the Garden City School District.

The first tryout / practice for the Varsity team will be held on Sunday, September 9 on the ice from 5 through 6:30 p.m. at Iceworks, 175 Underhill Blvd., Syosset. The second tryout / practice will be held on Saturday, September 15 on the ice from 10:15 through 11:30 a.m. at the Long Beach Arena, West Bay Drive and Magnolia Avenue in Long Beach. Tryouts are free and open to ALL 9th through 12th grade students who reside within the Garden City School District.

Players should arrive at least 45 minutes before ice time. Full hockey equipment is required. Each player MUST bring a USA Hockey registration receipt for the 2007 - 2008 season to the rink. Register with USA Hockey on line: www.usahockey.com.

The Wings ice hockey program includes about twenty League games and twenty-five practices throughout the season, which starts in September, 2007 and concludes in March, 2008.
