A Word From The Publisher

This is it, the final weekend of the summer of 2007. While the long weekend is predicted to have spectacular weather, it will still be a bittersweet time, as the carefree summer comes to an end (bitter for children who return to school this week and sweet for their parents!)

With the approach of the school year, we urge drivers to be extra careful around school buses, especially for the next few weeks. During the first few weeks of school young children who are new to busing may dart out into traffic when going to their bus stops. Even if the buses are not visible, please be especially careful when driving through the Village during times when children are likely to be on the streets.

With the return to business and school this month, the Village Board will again return to the thorny problem of St. Paul's. Will this be the year that a consensus will finally be reached, or is this the beginning of another season of dissention? Only time will tell. Unfortunately, time will also take its toll on the structure. Each year that passes without plan makes it more likely that the building will eventually succumb to the wrecking ball.
