Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

Between August 24 and 26, the front door to an Adams Street residence was forced open and 2 watches, a necklace, a game system and games were stolen with a total value of over $1500... On August 28, 2 tires on a Cavalier were found slashed at a Stewart Avenue address... PO Keith Wehr responded to the scene of a 2-car auto accident where one of the drivers, a 30-year-old male, from GC South, was allegedly DWI (.23%); he was charged with aggravated DWI... PO Walsh stopped a truck for an obstructed rear license plate at Washington Avenue on August 27. The driver, a 22-year-old Bayshore man, accidentally backed into the police car. He was charged with unlicensed operation, unregistered, aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree, and a license plate display violation... On August 23, 8:30 PM, someone using a pellet gun struck the inside speedometer of a car traveling on Franklin Avenue/Seventh Street. An investigation continues... PO Oswald assisted the County Fire Marshal in the arrest of a 20-year-old Massapequa for alleged DWI at South Avenue on August 24, 2:23 AM... On August 24, 11:43 PM, PO Dallolio arrested a 22-year-old Franklin Square man for alleged aggravated DWI (. 18%) at Edgemere Rd... On August 22, someone broke the windows and windshield of a 2007 Infiniti parked at Stratford Avenue... A $2000 Dell computer was stolen from the Adelphi University Center on August 22... A 42-year-old Hempstead man was arrested for the alleged larceny of 8 Covington shirts at Sears, Franklin Ave., on August 21... On August 19, 1:45 AM, someone set on fire 2 sets of golf clubs and an outside rack at the GC Country Club...

Two youths could not remove bicycles from a rack at Seventh Street on August 22 and firemen assisted... On the same day , a battery was disconnected from a car involved in an accident at Clinton Rd... Firemen answered a call for a broken sprinkler at Fourth St. on August 25... FD removed victims in a stalled elevator at Sears on the same day... A transformer exploded at Cambridge Avenue/NHP Rd. on August 25...A gas leak occurred at Hilton Avenue on the same day... Water leaking from a second floor bathroom through a light fixture into a dining room on the first floor, at a Roxbury Rd. house caused alarm on August 28...That's all this week. G. T.
