Soccer Club Finishes Second

The Syosset SC U18 Boys Showcase Tournament team made a courageous effort at the 2007 MAPS/MSSL Summer College Showcase in Fort Dix, NJ, August 4-5. Enduring dehydration in the extreme heat and humid conditions, Syosset rallied to be the only team to win both their games on Sunday to finish second in what was arguably the strongest Group A, and had the best overall record of the five Long Island teams participating in the tournament's U19/U18 Boys class. Twenty-one U19/U18 Boys teams from seven states competed before more than one hundred pre-registered college coaches, and National Scouting Reporters. The team plays again this weekend August 10-12 in the Inaugural Long Is-land Premier Cup at Mitchell Field.
