Around The World For Heritage Day

As the school year drew to a close this spring, third graders in Irene Mendonis and Christine Mustacchios' classes at Stratford School focused on family heritage as a springboard for a cross-curricular study of immigration. To mark Family Heritage Day on May 15, the students chose a country to research based on family history. The project drew parents, siblings, grandparents, and staff to class to listen to oral presentations, see posters, and sample an international menu of foods assembled by the students.
