At The Pool

a night of magic

On Friday, August 3 the Pool will be having "A Night of Magic" featuring Bob McEntee. Enjoy a night of fire eating, slight of hand magic, see someone sawed in half and much more. The pool will also stay open to 10 p.m. so that members can enjoy a late night swim, with a pool side DJ.

Tuesday night movie

On Friday, August 3, our feature film will be "Curious George." This film is Rated PG and has a running time of 104 minutes and will be shown in the picnic area beginning at 8:30 p.m. Admission to the movie is $1 for all Pool members, and $2 for non-resident guests of members. Please note that Garden City residents who are not Pool members are not permitted to attend the movies.

For your convenience, the Snack Bar and Good Humor Stand will remain open during the movie, and popcorn will be on sale in the picnic area for $1 per cup.

Children under 13 MUST be accompanied to and during the movie by an adult.

Please Note: In order to set up for the movie, the picnic area will close at 7 p.m. on Movie Nights. Additionally, anyone causing a disturbance during the movie will be removed from the Pool.

swim team news

The fourth week of the nassau Municipal Swim conference was a good one for the Pool Swim Teams, the division I team beat Clinton G. Martin Team, while the Division III team chalked up their first win of the season by defeating the Freeport Swim team. This Saturday, August 4 is the final week the Division I team will travel to Long Beach to take on the always tough Long Beach to take on the always tough Long Beach team. The Division III team hosts the Oceanside Swim team. Both meets begin at 8:00 a.m., and Pool 2 will be closed until the conclusion of the Division III meet.

senior citizen day

Due to the inclement weather on Monday, July 23, Senior Citizen Day has been rescheduled to Monday, August 13 . The Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon for Senior Citizens only. The featured entertainment will be the "Paul Cuneo Quartet." The Snack Bar will feature half priced items from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon.

The Pool is preparing to hire end of the season help. Any one 16 years of age and older that is interested in working from August through Labor Day is invited to stop by the Pool Office and pick up an employment application. For further information please call the Pool Office at 483-1714.

bingo night and

late night swim

On Friday, August 10 the Pool will be holding another "Bingo Night." Play bingo for fun and prizes in the Picnic Area. The Snack bar will feature its "Can You Top This" Ice Cream Sundae Special. Bingo Night will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. and the Pool will remain open for a late night swim until 10 p.m.
