At The Pool
The Pool's Annual Water Carnival will take place on Saturday, July 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. there will be games and races for children of all ages, tickets will be awarded that can be redeemed for prizes. Please note: The pool complex will be closed from 5 to 6 p.m. to set up for the water carnival. looney tunes night On Friday, July 27, the pool will be showcasing the Looney Tunes Classics, starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Road Runner and many more of your favorites. Looney Tunes Night will begin at 8:15 p.m. in the picnic area. The Snack Bar will feature its "Can You Top This Sundae Special." Tuesday night movie On Tuesday, July 31, our feature film will be "The Astronaut Farmer." This film is Rated PG and has a running time of 104 minutes and will be shown in the picnic area beginning at 8:30 p.m. Admission to the movie is $1 for all Pool members, and $2 for non-resident guests of members. Please note that Garden City residents who are not Pool members are not permitted to attend the movies. For your convenience, the Snack Bar and Good Humor Stand will remain open during the movie, and popcorn will be on sale in the picnic area for $1 per cup. Children under 13 MUST be accompanied to and during the movie by an adult. Please Note: In order to set up for the movie, the picnic area will close at 7 p.m. on Movie Nights. Additionally, anyone causing a disturbance during the movie will be removed from the Pool. swim team news The third week of the Nassau Municipal Swim Conference was a tough one for the Pool Swim Teams, the Division I team lost to Malibu, while the Division III team lost to the Averill Park team. This Saturday, July 28 the Division I team will host the G.C. Martin Swim Team The Division IV team travels to Freeport. Both meets begin at 8:00 a.m., and Pool 2 will be closed until the conclusion of the Division I meet. a night of magic On Friday, August 3 the Pool will be having "A Night of Magic" featuring Bob McEntee. Enjoy a night of fire eating, slight of hand magic, see someone sawed in half and much more. The pool will also stay open to 10 p.m. so that members can enjoy a late night swim, with a pool side DJ. senior citizen day Monday, July 23 Due to the inclement weather on Monday, July 23, Senior Citizen Day has been rescheduled to Monday, August 6 . The Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon for senior citizens only. The featured entertainment will be the "Paul Cuneo Quartet." The Snack Bar will feature half priced items from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon. help wanted The Pool is preparing to hire end of the season help. Any one 16 years of age and older that is interested in working from August through Labor Day is invited to stop by the Pool Office and pick up an employment application.
