new mini golf course open
Community Park's new mini golf course has met with spectacular success since its opening day in June. Over 1000 people a week have visited our new facility since the summer began and the reviews have been wonderful.
The golf course is now open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Improvements to the area have created a spectacular course sure to please any mini golf devotee. Rates for the course are as follows:
Residents under 12 or residents aged 65 or older: $3.00
Residents 12 or older: $5.00
Non resident under 12: $4.00
Non resident 12 or older: $6.00
Please note that until construction is finished in the area, monies will be collected at the tennis hut located just north of the tennis facility. You will then be given a ticket to turn in to the attendant at the mini golf area.
summer chess club begins

The Recreation Department will sponsor its summer chess club at the Garden City Library on Tuesday, July 17th from 4 to 6 p.m. in the library's lower level meeting room. Any resident in grades 3 to 8 is invited to attend this free program, which will run until August 21st. Paul Dooher will again moderate this club.
trip to splish splash
The Recreation Department invites all students in grades 6-10 to attend our trip to Splish Splash Water park in Suffolk County. Our trip will take place on Tuesday, July 31st. The recreation bus will leave St. Paul's at 9 a.m. and return around 5 p.m. The trip will be supervised by our Recreation staff. The cost of this trip will be $23. To register for this trip, please visit the Recreation Office in Village hall. Payment, in cash, will be needed at the time of registration. adventureland trips
Trips to Adventureland Amusement Park in Farmingdale have again been scheduled for each of the five neighborhood parks this summer. This trip is open to any resident ages 8 to 14 years. Trips will depart from the parks at 11 a.m. and will return there at approximately 4 p.m. Supervision for these trips will be provided by the playground staff. The cost of this trip will be $18.00. The trips will be taken according to the follwoing schedule:
Nassau Haven, Tullamore, and Edgemere Parks Friday, July 27
Grove and Hemlock parks Friday, August 3

park programs ongoing
Our Park Programs are in full swing and open to children ages 6-14. Our park directors Rich, Kristian, Greg, Anthony, Brad, and Ryan have planned games, field days and trips for residents of the Village to enjoy. We also have "make and take it" Arts and Crafts for ages 6-12 in each park at 10 a.m. Please visit our parks and join in the fun!

amusement park tickets now on sale
The Recreation Department has reserved tickets on consignment for some of the best amusement parks in our area. These tickets can be purchased at any time this summer in the Recreation Office in Village Hall and are good for any time this season. summer stretch class begins
Our very popular stretch class will be offered from 9:15 to 10:15 every Tuesday nd Thursday starting this Tuesday, July 17th. This is different from what was publiched last week. The cost of this 6 week program will be $48. to register, please visit the Recreation Office in Village Hall.
summer gazebo concerts
for 2007
The Garden City Recreation Department is pleased to announce their 2007 Summer Gazebo Concerts Series. All Concerts are held on Thursday evenings beginning at 7:15 p.m. at the Gazebo on the corner of Stewart and Hilton Avenues. Please bring a lawn chair and enjoy the evening. In case of bad weather, the concert would be moved into Cluett Hall.

preschool camp announced
The Garden City Recreation Department will be conducting a Pre-School Camp for girls and boys 3.5 to 5 years old who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. Children who attend this camp MUST be 3.5 years by the start of the session. This camp will be held at the St. Paul's Cluett Hall from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The cost of each session will be $75. Arts and crafts, music, nature, and stories will fill the one and one half hour class. The sessions are as follows:
Session I:July 9 thru July 13
Session II:July 16 thru July 20
Session III:July 23 thru July 27
Session IV:July 30 thru August 3
Session V: August 6 thru August 10
Please make selections carefully as fees are not returnable.
To register: by mail only, no walk in registrations will be accepted until June 10. We can not be held responsible for delays in the mail. To register, pick up an application at the Recreation Office in Village Hall. You can also make your own by listing your child's name, address, phone number, birth date, grade he/she will be entering in September and the session and classes for which your are registering. Mail all information with full payment to the Garden City Recreation Department at 351 Stewart Avenue. Please make all checks payable to the "Inc. Village of Garden City."
summer roller hockey camp
The Recreation Department is offering a summer Roller Hockey Camp at the Community Park's Roller Hockey Rinks. The camp will be a combination of skill driven activities and pick up games. This camp is open to any village resident between the ages of 5-10.
The week of the camp will be as follows:
Monday, August 13th through Thursday, August 16
Ages 5-8 8:30- 10 a.m.
Ages 9-1010:30 - noon
The cost of the camp will be $60. Please make all checks payable to the "Inc. Village of Garden City." Please visit the Recreation Office in Village Hall to register.
summer adult tennis lessons
The Garden City Recreation Department will conduct evening tennis lesson for adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. The lessons will be held at the Garden City Community Park tennis facility and will run one evening a week. There will be a maximum of four players on a court. The dates, times, and fees will be as follows:
