At The Pool

Tuesday night movie

On Tuesday, July 17, our feature film will be "Happily N'Ever After ". Inspired by the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales, this comedy explores what would happen if the balance of good and eveil were upset in Fairy Tale Land. When the Wicked Stepmother takes control, Cinderella's fairy tale becomes totally fractured in this hilarious take on what happens when it's happily never after. This movie is rated PG, and has a running time of 87 minutes, and will be shown in the picnic area beginning at 8:30 p.m. Admission to the movie is $1 for all Pool Members, and $2 for non-resident guests of members. Please note that Garden City residents who are not Pool members are not permitted to attend the movies.

For your convenience, the Snack Bar and Good Humor Stand will remain open during the movie, and popcorn will be on sale in the picnic area for $1 per cup.

Children under 13 MUST be accompanied to and during the movie by an adult.

Please Note: In order to set up for the movie, the picnic area will close at 7 p.m. on Movie Nights. Additionally, anyone causing a disturbance during the movie will be removed from the Pool.

swim team news

The first week of the Nassau Municipal Swim Conference was a rough one for the Pool Swim Teams. The Division I team lost to the Village of Hempstead, while the Division III team lost to Echo Park. This Saturday, July 14, the Division I team will host the Newbridge Swim Team. The Division III team travels to Lynbrook. Both meets begin at 8:00 a.m., and Pool 2 will be closed until the conclusion of the Division I meet.

friday night flick

On Friday, July 13 the pool will be showing the feature film "Monster House," rated PG, has a running time of 99 minutes, and will be shown in the picnic area beginning at 8:30 p.m. Popcorn will be half priced and the Snack Bar will remain open during the movie.

middle school night

Middle School Night will take place at the Pool on Monday, July 16 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5 which includes a Poolside DJ, a trip to the Snack Bar for an ice cream sundae or a soda and fries. Middle School night is open to all Middle School aged students.

swim to fight cancer

Line up your sponsors and swim laps to fight cancer with Swim Across America. Registration forms are available in the Pool Office, and the Swim-A-Thon will take place on Friday, July 20 beginning at 3 p.m.

senior citizen day Monday, July 23

Senior Citizen Day at the Pool is Monday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon for Senior citizens only. The Snack Bar will feature half priced items from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon for Seniors and entertainment will be provided by the Paul Cuneo Band.
