Harlan Lynn Strader Nov. 25, 1920-July 5, 2007

Harlan L. Strader, 86 died on July 5th in New Canaan, CT.

Born and educated in Freeport, NY, Harlan was the son of Budd Kinnan and Esther Dorian Strader.

He Graduated from Dartmouth College in 1942 and enlisted in the U. S. Army. He rose to the rank of Major in the Army Corps of Engineers and saw service in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany before being dis-charged in 1946. Mr. Strader returned to Long Island and began a long career in business working for Bonwit Teller, Pfizer and Lehman Brothers. In 1949 he married Audrey Hoag and together they raised 3 children, Harlan Jr., Paul and Pamela. Mrs. Strader pre-deceased him in 1996.

Mr. Strader spent many years as a resident of Garden City, NY before moving to Florida and St. Simons Island, GA. and ultimately, New Canaan, CT.

Harlan and Susan Beck Strader and their children, Haley and Harlan III of Marblehead, MA, Paul and Sarah Wilson Strader and their son, Christian of Wilton, CT and his daughter, Pamela and her partner Donald Atwell of Norwalk, CT survive Mr. Strader.

Harlan Strader a devoted husband, father and grandfather, lived a life of quiet dignity and was truly a member of the "greatest generation." His smile and good nature will be forever with us.
