"Teaching For Peace And Human Rights" Conference

Adelphi University and the United Nations will host the Second Annual Conference on "Teaching for Peace and Human Rights" on July 27, 2007 at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, NY and July 28, 2007 at Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. The theme of this year's conference, "Sports and Play," will highlight the importance of games in building self-esteem and confidence, as well as encouraging conflict resolution and fostering understanding between groups. The conference will bring together anyone interested in integrating peace and human rights education into the classroom.

Teachers will have the opportunity to earn one continuing education credit for successful completion of the program. In addition, students can earn three credits by participating in the Peace and Human Rights Institute summer course from July 24-25.
