Cathedral Seniors Celebrated At Mass

The graduating seniors receive a blessing and support from their parents as they embark on the next step of their life journer
On Sunday, June 3, the graduating high school seniors were recognized by the congregation of the Cathedral of the Incarnation at a Stepping into the World Blanket Presentation. The congregation celebrated the seniors who are taking another step in their life journey. The seniors and their parents were called to the altar. The parents were praised for bringing their children up in the Christian faith and supporting them on their journey to adulthood. The graduates were asked to continue on their faith journey as they completed the first part and stepped into the next. The congregation was asked to offer their support for the parents and the graduates.

The seniors were given a blessing and a gift of a blanket inscribed with their names to help them remember the love of their parents and the nurture of the Christian community at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. The graduates then asked for God's blessing on their parents for the gifts of their hearts and homes and the loving care and sacrifices that were made to help them attain their goals. At the conclusion of the Blanket Presentation and blessings the congregation acknowledged the seniors and their parents with a warm round of applause.
