Young Musicians Shine At Stratford

Lead by Music Teacher Meredith Stillwell, the second grade concert featured The Lullaby of Stratford, as well as tunes from the musicals Oliver, Bye, Bye Birdie, and Beauty and the Beast. The annual Beginner's Concert showcased third graders playing recorders, and, under the direction of Music Teacher Frances Dial, the emerging talents of third grade string musicians, who performed I Like Chocolate Ice Cream and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star; the third grade chorus sang Rockin' Robin and La Granja, a song that Spanish Teacher April Cornachio helped rehearse. The fourth grade choral concert included interpretations of When I Close my Eyes, Skye Boat Song, and This Land is Your Land. At the spring concert, the jazz band, as well as the band and orchestra-which are made up of mostly fourth and fifth graders-entertained all.
