Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

On June 22, 3:34 AM, PO Hickey arrested a 26-year-old Hempstead man for harassment 2nd degree after he allegedly punched a 22-year-old Bethpage man at the Posh club, GC Hotel...Between June 23 and 25, someone took a GPS radio navigation center from a car parked at a Commercial Avenue property...PO Cristiano, while on routine patrol at 7:30 AM, noticed a car with a cracked windshield and an obstructed license plate, at Cathedral Avenue, and arrested the motorist for aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree ( 3 suspensions, 3 dates)... Between June 25 and 26, someone stole ornamental items from a porch at Barnes Lane...Police arrested a 57-year-old GC man for allegedly assaulting his 54-year-old wife on June 24 at 11:15 PM. The man evidently punched her in the face several times and she was taken to Winthrop Hospital...Between June 29 and 30, someone damaged a teak bench on the Cathedral grounds...On June 23, a 32-year-old Jamaica man, an employee of Lord and Taylor, Franklin Avenue, allegedly took a pair of $50 earrings at the store...GC detectives stopped a 17-year-old GC male for allegedly speeding at 55 in a 30 mph zone at 9:55 PM, on June 22, at NHP Rd. The motorist was charged with the possession of marijuana after 8 bags of marijuana were found...On June 19, unknown persons scratched the sides of a 2006 Infiniti parked in field 11. $1500 damage... A gray 1996 Honda Civic was stolen from a Kenmore Rd. driveway on June 20 between 8 AM and 11:45 AM...A 37-year-old Hempstead woman allegedly took a pair of Apostrophe earrings and Armani cologne at Sears on June 19, 11:30 AM...

On June 21, the FD assisted with the moving of a father to an ambulance at Wickham Rd...Firemen stood by to assist with a bon fire if necessary on Cambridge Avenue, on June 21, but the event was postponed...An electrician doing outside wiring at a South Gate residence on June 22, accidentally ignited a pesticide spray he had used on a bees nest there, causing a small fire...Two cans of water were used to extinguish a brush fire at Edgemere Rd. on June 23...Another brush fire occurred at Franklin Avenue on June 23... LIPA was notified of a 2-car accident that occurred at Stewart Ave./Washington Ave. on June 24. Also, firemen aided a Stewart Avenue resident with a generator after a power outage occurred there ,as a result of that car accident... That's all this week. G. T.
