Girl Scout Troop Supports Winthrop's Cancer Center for Kids
      Garden City Girl Scout Troop 1426, lead by Christine Ruhl and Susan Rolando, has worked diligently towards their silver award to raise over $2,500 for the purchase of scrap booking materials for more than100 patients at the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University Hospital.

Roof Repairs At Schools
      As part of its ongoing capital project work, the Garden City School District is replacing sections of roof at Hemlock School and the Middle School. The work will take place during July and August with the full expectation that both jobs will be completed before school starts in September.
