Students in Jeanne Ciaverelli's second grade class at Stewart School received a special surprise this spring: a flag that had been carried in Iraq by members of the 3-297 Infantry. The flag contains the logo of the 3-297 and the words "Operation Iraqi Freedom: Duty, Honor, County" together with the names of all the students in the class.
The flag was made to thank the students for the letters of gratitude and support that they sent to the troops earlier this year. The students mailed their letters to Sergeant Colin Stewart in Iraq, who then distributed the letters to members of the 3-297.
