Resident Elected To Girl Scouts Board

Dr. Ed Kang, Vice President of the Board of Directors
Dr. Ed Kang, a resident of Garden City, has been elected as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. The election took place during the 42nd Annual Meeting held at Hofstra University Student Center Theatre on Wednesday, May 9th. Dr. Kang joins other Board Members in an effort to provide guidance, focus and ambition for the Council.

"We are truly pleased and look forward to another year with Dr. Kang," said Sandra Echols Williams, President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors. "We know he will continue to be a devoted and beneficial addition to our organization."

Dr. Kang has been a member of the board since 1998. He served as Chair of the 2002-2003 Council Nominating Committee and is also a former National Delegate. He is currently a member of the Delegate Communications Committee and serves on the Girl Scout Nassau County Asian Task Force. His volunteer involvement outside of Girl Scouts includes the Long Island Chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans, and the North American Chinese Clinical Chemists Association. Dr. Kang received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Howard University and is a Staff Scientist at Siemens Medical Solutions.
