GCAA Baseball Pacific League Weekly Highlights

Giants- The Giants received outstanding pitching this week from Jake Milbury, Michael Bonomi and Michael DeSimone. These three boys have really found their pitching grove as the season has progressed.

Cubs - The Cubs continue to show their offensive talent this week with key hits by Thomas Riggers, Jack Mahland and Joseph King. Ryan Galioto demonstrates good base running instincts and the team overall has improved tremendously on the base paths.

White Sox- The Sox had a strong week led by Michael Patalano, Robert Ricigliano, Kyle Hand, Finn Gibbons and Tommy Ryan. Strong contributions from John Martinez, James Ostosky and Joe Dowd. The defense of Michael and Robert have been inspiring. Sean Mohan had a great week of hitting. John Kilcommons work behind the plate continues to improve.

Pirates- The Pirates rolled again behind the pitching and hitting of Joseph Pizzingrillo and Dominick Avatabile. Tyler Sarkis and Patrick Plunkett also contributed excellent all-around play.

A's- Again faced with a Thursday-Saturday schedule, the A's buckled down and played great team baseball. As Thursday's starter, Kyle Cortese showed some pretty good stuff and also contributed with his bat. Brendan Schick with his rocket arm played a solid "infield" as a right fielder. In Saturday's 90º temperatures, the bats of Patrick Smith, Jack Wozniak, and Matthew Giraldo heated up and Christopher Levano showed the instincts of a pro at second base. Aidan Ryan played a Gold Glove first base and contributed a 4-for-4 day at the plate. Brendan Burke and Giraldo each plated 2 RBI. If the A's can apply their patented "last inning lightning" from the first pitch, the season's final week should be electric.

Devil Rays - The Devil Rays had another solid week of baseball. Excellent defense was played by Jack McManus and Zach Warhurst. James Rumsey played well, singling and scoring for the Devil Rays.

Blue Jays- The play of Luke Thompson and Brendan Coors guided the Blue Jays towards good defensive plays in the field while the hitting of Nolan Prendergast and Danny LaRose jumpstarted the offense.

Royals- The Royals played hard in both games this week. The offensive attack was led by the timely hitting of Eric Thorstenn and John Cote. Defensively, the Royals were led by Phillip Puccio and James Walczyk, making all the plays we needed.

Mariners- The Mariners had another week of red hot offense, as Jamie Atkinson , Christian Irwin and Brandon Holloway paced a very balanced attack versus the Royals. Thomas Hegeman received the game ball for his stellar defense! Saturday's game against the Cubbies offered the same high flying attack as Michael DeSanti, TJ Michelini and Liam McAndrews paced the offense. David Leary looked terrific behind the plate.

Mets- The Mets had a great week with strong pitching from Shayne Gallagher and Nick Lavinio. Christian Ferris combined with Tony Loiodici to throw-out a runner at second. James Linehan provided some clutch hitting.
