4th Grade Maroon Team On a Roll

The Garden City 4th Grade Maroon Team played a tough Cold Spring Harbor Team on their home turf and walked away with a well earned 8-4 victory. It was an 9:00 AM game on a hot Sunday morning but the Maroon Team was up to the challenge.

Matt Flynn continued his stellar play defending the Garden City net and was protected by defenseman Alex Wood and Brendan Digan. The Maroon midfielders controlled the pace of the game from the outset. Despite injuries to Brian Colamussi and Will Glenn the mid-field lines of Jack Tigh, Carson Bauer, Patrick Gibbons, Brogan Mahon, Evan Nagel and Thomas Wright were able to keep the ball out of the GC defensive end and constantly applying pressure on the Cold Spring Harbor goalie. The attackers, Kieran McGoldrick, Thomas Mulligan, Chris Moscatiello, Ryan McCartney, Mike Crapotta and Brian Shannon were never standing still, always looking to find open space and created a defensive nightmare for the Cold Spring Harbor defense. The score may have been 8-4 but the real reason the Maroon team walked off with the victory was due to the ground balls. A stat that most do not follow but the coaches reported a 28-7 differential in GC's favor.

The Maroon team (7-0) enters the PAL Jamboree on Sunday against another Cold Spring Harbor team which is undefeated as well. Let's keep the streak alive!! Go Rams!!
