GC Patriettes Tie Floral Park Fusion

It was a hot, humid, sunny Saturday morning when the Garden City Patriettes took on the Floral Park Fusion in Floral Park. Kelsey Whitney, Alicia Mueller and Annemarie Kane put immediate offensive pressure on the Fusion keeper early in the game. Shot after shot was blocked by the Floral Park keeper. Margot McTiernan, Laurel Nothel and Claire Murphy continued the Patriettes' strong offense with numerous shots deflected by the keeper time and again. Goalies Erin Rode and Caitlin Kaczynski together with the strong defensive support of Julia Biscardi, Christie Pflume and Kelly McDonnell defended the Patriettes' net. Floral Park scored the first goal but Kelsey Whitney evened the score with a great shot of her own, tying the game at 1 a piece. Despite the Patriettes' constant attack through the last minutes of the game, the final score was 1-1. Good job, Patriettes!

The Patriettes face Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor at home on June 9th and 17th. Go Patriettes!
