The PTA Reflections Committee was pleased to present awards to numerous Garden City students for their winning entries in the Reflections Program. The Reflections Program is a cultural arts program developed in 1969 by the National PTA to inspire children in pre-school through grade 12 to develop an interest in the Arts. Students enter the Reflections Program by creating art that reflects the yearly theme in the areas of Music, Visual Arts, Literature Photography, Film/Video and Dance Choreography. This year's theme was "My Favorite Place...". We had 7 students chosen as Nassau County Finalists and their original works were sent to Albany, NY for New York State judging. Donald McGowen, a Senior at Garden City High School, won a Certificate of Merit from New York State for his Film/video entry. Congratulations to all for a job well done. Next year's theme will be "I Can Make A Difference By."
