German Language Award

Jared M. Szuba, Garden City resident and sophomore at Chaminade HS in Mineola, was the recipient of one of the top charter awards, the prestigious Langenscheidt Award, at the reception for the Long Island chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German. Nearly 400 students from Long Island took this year's AATG exam and 35 placed in the 90% and above. Jared received a score in the 99%. The awards dinner was held on May 24th at Windows on the Lake Restaurant in Lake Ronkonkoma. Jared was joined by six other Chaminade students, several Garden City HS students and several Waldorf students among others representing the nationwide top 10% of German students.
